Tsunami warning

Everyone knows that the tsunami warning was more of a drill than a natural disaster... but we aren't complaining. My friend Tanya was so gracious to let us stay at her house during the warning.
They have an incredible view of the city!
We got two calls at 4 am from friends of ours warning us about the tsunami. After watching the news we decided that we should leave the city just in case. Any amount of water coming ashore would bring debris and leave us stranded in our apartment. If it were just Adam and I it's not a big deal, but with Allison we didn't want to chance it. Being in an apartment with no running water or electricity is no picnic.
My poor friend Tanya, I woke her at 4:30 to ask if we could come to her house. She was so sweet to take us in. We left the city at 6:00 am just as the tsunami sirens started going off.
A lot of the boats went out to sea to avoid the tsunami, it took them all day to get back into the harbor. It was cool to see all the boats out on the water. As you can see nothing really materialized, but that's fine with me! A big THANKS to Tanya, Chris and Chase! They fed us really well, waffles, fruit salad, and turkey bacon for breakfast and pizza, and spam musubis for lunch. Allison took a great 3 hour nap in Chase's play pen. She wasn't concerned with the warning at all. She loved playing with Chase's toys and eating in his high chair! It's really nice to know we have such great friends that would take us in! You know it's true friendship when you can call someone at 4:30 in the morning on a Saturday!

No problem! Like you said, we wanted to hang out, right? Little did I know it would be THAT early in the morning!
